wings of the goddess

Over the weekend, we took BST from 43 to 49, camping at the Yhoater Jungle Telepoint (even killing the random Marlboro, just cause we could), and then partying with Myce (PLD) and Thom (RDM). We moved to Gustav Tunnel for Goblin Beastmaster pets, and the exp was decent.

Presently at 49, we have found Gustav Tunnel to be overcamped, Garlaige Citadel too high for higher tier bats and beetles, or bombs for that matter, so we have been looking for a new camp. Guides online suggest Battallia Downs [S], or East Ronfaure [S] for Djinn type mobs, but there is one problem: Survive and I havnt really explored the Wings of the Goddess expansion yet. So monday night, we decided to run to Southern San d'Oria [S], and set up our alliegence. Suprisingly enough, I found the first few quests, while standard timesinks, actually provided an entertaining storyline. I also participated in a few campaign battles, which were actually fun, and provide a fair amount of Allied Notes.

I'm looking forward to exploring these relatively new areas on BST, and perhaps gain a few levels in the process.

bst update

This week has been quite productive in terms of BST. Our group consisted of Simkiel, Survive, and myself. (Hoss being EST, doing Limbus et al.) We started off around level 32, and we are now at 38. I find the exp bands to be invaluable for BST. Having saved the 2008 Anniversary Ring for BST exclusively, it has made leveling in slower zones more efficient and enjoyable.

A quick rundown of the zones we visited:

32-34: Gusgen Mines: Camped in the basement. We charmed Fungars and Flies, using them against Bombs and Flies. Exp slowed down a lot once we dinged 33, but our exp bands carried us to 34.

34-36: Bibiki Bay: Camped on the deck/beach area. Charmed Dhamels, Rarabs, and Efts, fighting Efts and Ravens. Exp dropped considerably at 36, so we moved on.

36-37: Sea Serpent Grotto: This place was awesome. We camped near the unmarked door on the way to Norg. Used Leeches and Bats v. Ghasts. Just chucked pets at mobs until they died- no meleeing alongside pets. Very easy with 3 people. Only had one death when Surv's leech decided to uncharm while she was running through a group of 3 or 4 leeches. Probably could have stayed here until 38, but exp slowed down too much, especially when we could have been in...

37-41: Yuhtunga Jungle: Camped in the SE corner of the map, near the Yhoater Jungle zone line. Pets included crawlers and bees v. gobs. We had to use a bunch of jug pets, due to the lack of charmable mobs in the area. Regardless, exp was awesome. We haven't quite exhausted this zone yet, and I anticipate being able to stay here until 39 or maybe even 40. I anticipate finishing this zone tonight.

Edit: This zone worked all the way until we dinged 41, then exp dropped, as gobs fell to the T-VT range.

Sim and I were able to grab our AF weapons pretty quickly. Surv still needs to get hers, as she was getting tired, and was sort of distracted by Sbrightblade fearlessly hitting on her. She got in a few funny insults, and he eventually shutup.

Future zones look to be either Yhoater Jungle or Attowha Chasm.

Saturday 11.15

Saturday was... well, interesting. Simkiel has been working on the Chains of Promathia expansion, and his static needed a bit of help with Mission 4-3. Surv, Hoss, and I went out to Sacrarium to give him a hand. Sim's LS, inappropriately named 'ProfoundWisdom', was clearly unorganized. The leader clearly did not know how many people would be needed on this run, which jobs would be advantageous, etc- and this was their second attempt at this mission. Very frustrating- I blacklisted the leader, as her /wrists emo attitude was clearly unrestrained.

After clearing several Fomor rooms with no professor pop, we moved camps. Unfortunately one of the members was afk and decided to aggro half the zone. Needless to say he KO'd in a lovely spot, and upon raising him, we wiped trying to save him from his blood aggro.

3 hours later, our LS left the CoP party, without even fighting the NM.

0/1.

We took a break, then decided to do an ENM run as NIN RDM SAM SAM (Sheep in Antlion's Clothing). We attempted to enter, and Sim was unable to do so. Not to waste our chance at a Hagun, Surv, Hoss, and I attempted to trio it, and were unsuccessful in the attempt.

0/2.

We took an even longer break, as Sim was pretty frustrated. Came back and decided to do something we knew we could do- get Sim Bastok rank 8. We did 2 missions, and completed it with ease. We were also able to snag Hoss his SAM AF helm while we were there.

1/3.

We then hopped on BST for a short time, and 4-manned in Eastern Altepa Desert. Sim, Surv, and I all got a level, and Hoss (who is lvl 66) got a buffer. We had a few deaths, but most of it was learning the zone, and having all our pets die at around the same time. Compared to earlier events, I consider this a win.

2/4.

11.11

Tuesday evening was planned to be a casual evening. Sim had dynamis-bastok, Hoss had to KO early, and Surv and I were tired. Congrats to Sim for finally getting the dynamis-bastok win (1/3 hurray!). Hoss, Surv, and myself did 5 Under Observation runs (Hoss ran out of seals). Survive and I each got an Utsusemi: Ni scroll, and Hoss got a Peacock Charm! Looks like he can seriously start thinking about a hagun now. Tonight, we will probably do some more bst burning, or resume NIN/WAR/THF/RDM.

bst burn

Sunday evening, our small ls all geared up on beastmaster and proceeded to own several zones. Armies of jug-pet crabs washed over the terrain in Lower Delkfutt's Tower, Rolanberry Fields, and Yuhtunga Jungle. Simkiel and Survive went from level 24-27, Circa from 38-40, and Hoss joined in to get some exp on his 65 bst. Experimenting with subjobs was interesting as well: BST/WHM x2, BST/DNC, and BST/COR 4-man worked suprisingly well. We only had a couple deaths from external aggro, but everything went fairly smoothly. I think I got some decent screenshots, which I may post later.

Dynamis - San d'oria

On his third run with his Dynamis shell, Simkiel emerged relatively victorious. Despite multiple wipes, Simkiel finally got a Dynamis win under his non-swift belt. Congratulations!

More Dorps!

Camping Quu Domi the Gallant with Survive yielded a Sarutobi Kyahan (2/48 overall for me), and a 2-hour subligar farming run with Simkiel and Survive got Survive her THF subligar! After farming Phomiuna Aquaducts for the last few weeks, we finally got everyone the subligar they wanted. Congrats! Hopefully this luck will carry over to the next Swift Belt run!

swift belt run

Congratulations to Survive for obtaining a Swift Belt on Friday, October 31st! Thanks to Simkiel, Hoss, Hellslayer, and Helldemon for joining us on this run.

greetings

I started this blog to track and record our progress as a static and to recognize our accomplishments. I will try to post a tentative schedule regarding events, but keep in mind these are always subject to change.

Week of November 3, 2008-
  • Monday - Subligar/Codex Farming (Hoss Limbus)
  • Tuesday - Farming/Fishing (Simkiel Dynamis)
  • Wednesday - Exp: WAR/NIN/THF/RDM (Garlaige Citadel/Kuftal Tunnel)
  • Thursday - Survive NIN AF3/Key Farming if needed (Hoss Dynamis?)
  • Friday - Off (Circa and Survive out of town)
  • Saturday - Off (Circa and Survive out of town, Simkiel CoP)
  • Sunday - Exp: WAR/NIN/THF/RDM (Kuftal Tunnel/Wajoam Woodlands)
Also, we will do another Swift Belt run for Simkiel and Hoss if we can grab a few others. This event is fairly important, so the dates above could be replaced with this.
